Good to know Warna, I will put a sharpner on my list.
have a great night.

Thanks Jill. I started off thinking I would make a small 'memory' quilt for my daughter but after visiting my local quilt fabric shop the project is growing - no surprise there!! One thing I did pick up was a rotary blade sharpener. I had three blades, none of which were working very well. Just a few twirls in the sharpener and I am back in business. This is one purchase I am impressed with right off the bat. The owner of the store says she gets 5-6 sharpenings per blade before she needs to discard them.

thanks Judee; after I finish the pj's I'm making for Fiona (3yr old) I am going to do the same basic quilt but use triangles instead of the squares & different colours & fabrics. I have 3 granddaughters so I'll get lots of practice using the rotary cutter. The 3rd one will be a mixture of triangles & squares (I hope). I've been enjoying my sewing room more than usual this last week thanks to the weather.

Jill, cute quilt. As anything else, rotary cutting just take practice...LOL

Warna the quilt is 30x36. I made it to practice using a rotary cutter - (I'm more awkward than I thought I was) my middle granddaughter (3yr old) loves it.

How Much Bias Binding Can You Cut From A Square Of Fabric
Cathy Nelson Comment by Cathy Nelson on June 26, 2009 at 5:26pm
Can anyone give me instructions on how to make my own bias tape? Several years ago I had instructions and have lost them. Somehow I would take a piece of fabric, sew it together in a circle and then cut it into strips to have one long continuous piece of bias tape. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks you so very much.
